First time here, loved it! It is my type of place I have been searching for. We took my mom there to see the Happy Birthday Frank Sinatra show. She really enjoyed it. Staff was friendly. The drink Ella was awesome! I will definitely go again in the near future.
I had an awesome night at the Forte Jazz Lounge in downtown Charleston. The club is cozy, chill, and has great sound and service. The highlight was the Jazz Trio, who played some of there originals with passion and skill. The crowd gave them a big applause and I left feeling inspired and happy. The Forte Jazz Lounge is a must-visit for jazz lovers or newcomers. It’s one of the best jazz places I've been to lately.
Very nice atmosphere and acoustics for jazz and the band was great. We enjoyed the "evolution of jazz" from early drop south music to modern. The drinks menu is basic but perfectly fine. We chose a sofa towards the front which was a very comfortable way to enjoy the music.
We attended the Soulful Sunday Show on 9/10/23 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Tonya Nicole was the vocalist and her voice and stage presence is nothing less than beautiful and fantastic. Her backing band had their act together and they and along with Tonya delivered a 5 star performance. Go see them perform if you like jazz and R&B and if you get a chance! The club is a very nice venue with a beautiful laid back jazz ambiance. The lounge is in a good location downtown with the Visitor Center Parking Garage conveniently close by, We look forward to going back.
We moved to Charleston a year ago and of all the bars and restaurants this is our all time favorite spot to hit for a night of fun! The most special live music space, Joe and the band are AMAZING and the songs covered are all the best ones - we've done Sinatra, Billy Joel and Elton nights so far. It's affordable and always easy to drop in or get a ticket in advance. Such a hidden gem, I felt compelled to write this review to make sure they get all of the love and recognition!
The atmosphere was lovely! Music was on point! Food...not so much. The tapas was a little pricey and not that appealing, but if you want to hear some great jazz/motown, this is the place to go
Had a BLAST!!! The band was awesome. We had so much fun dancing and singing along. Will definitely return the next time I'm in Charleston!
FIRST CLASS ENTERTAINMENT:
We have been to this awesome club multiple times and every time it is amazing. Joe Clark the owner is often in the lead when it comes to entertaining the crowd. This visit he was singing and playing the piano. We were there on a Thursday evening for a three hour show. Talk about getting bang for your buck!!!
They have a large variety of shows from old school R&B to the classics like Sinatra and Louis to Jazz to the 20's to ....... An array of music with incredible talented musicians.
The atmosphere is perfect no matter the type of show you are attending. We have each time sat in the front row in extremely comfortable seating. You can also choose a small table or seating on the side as well. There is no bad view in the club but I am very partial to being comfortable and in front.
They have plenty on the menu but we have not had more than the popcorn as we always eat dinner prior. They also have plenty of liquor, beer, wine, and bubbles, all at a very reasonable price.
The music is awesome, the venue is perfect, the pricing is more than fair, in fact it is a bargain and that is front row seating pricing. The entertainment is more than you can ask and more than you can hope for. You will feel welcomed, appreciated, and leave knowing you will definitely be going back again and again and again.
